Welcome, we're Chloe and Yvan, a French couple with a passion for gastronomy, wines, culture and beautiful places around the world. After spending a number of years working hard for luxury hotels and restaurants around the globe, we chose Croatia for the richness of it's gastronomy, Dalmatia for it's way of life and Stari Grad on Hvar as the perfect place to share this all with you.
Committed to our goal of offering premium products we source these rare and unique items from every corner of the island and all of Croatia. We seek out, support and promote the passionate local people; the growers, farmers, wine makers, butchers and cheese mongers who dedicate themselves to producing fine quality products. We do this, to bring the best of the island and all of Croatia to you in the beautiful village of Stari Grad.
You may be wondering what our name means. Za Pod Zub is a Dalmatian expression meaning "good bite for under the tooth". We chose this because it's used widely in the local dialect and embodies the local culture of sharing great food with family and friends.
